1-Hydroxyethanediphosphonic acid sodium salt (HEDP.Na, CAS 29329-71-3) is an organic phosphonic acid scale and corrosion inhibitor that can form stable complexes with various metal ions such as iron, copper, and zinc, and can dissolve oxides on metal surfaces. It still has a good corrosion and scale inhibition effect at 250 ℃, remains stable at high pH, is not easily hydrolyzed, and is not easily decomposed under general photothermal conditions. The resistance to acid, alkali, and chlorine oxidation is better than other organic phosphonic acids (salts). It can form a six ring Chelation with metal ions in water, especially calcium ions, so it has good scale inhibition effect and obvious solution limit effect. When used together with other water treatment agents, it shows an ideal synergistic effect.
HEDP.Na is the most suitable scale inhibitor and detergent for acidic formula. HEDP · Na is the monosodium salt of Etidronic acid, which is suitable for the application of metal cleaning, metal treatment and metal ion control.

Application scope and usage method
HEDP. Na is widely used for scale and corrosion inhibition in industrial circulating cooling water systems such as power, chemical, metallurgical, and fertilizer industries, as well as in medium and low pressure boilers, oilfield water injection, and oil pipelines; HEDP · Na can be used as a cleaning agent for metals and non-metals in the light textile industry, a peroxide stabilizer and fixing agent in the bleaching and dyeing industry, and a complexing agent in the cyanide free electroplating industry. As a scale inhibitor, a concentration of 2-20mg/L is generally used, as a corrosion inhibitor, a concentration of 20-100mg/L is generally used, and as a cleaning agent, a concentration of 1000-2000mg/L is usually used in conjunction with a polycarboxylic acid type scale inhibitor dispersant.
